Situated on the edge of Disney property, it is in the midst of the world's most popular attractions and right in the middle of all the magic. What many visitors think of when they think of Orlando is actually Lake Buena Vista–Disney's theme parks all call this Orlando suburb their home.

With an approximate population of 1,776, Lake Buena Vista is located in Orange County just southwest of Orlando between Orlando and Kissimmee along Interstate 4, and The Orlando International Airport is located approximately 20 miles away.

Their plan was to build a new amusement park (Walt Disney World Resort Opened in 1971). The Mayor, Business Administrator and City Council are all appointed and are employees of The Walt Disney Company. The only employees who are not under the director of Disney is the Reedy Creek Improvement District which provides Fire Protection and Utilities services such as Electricity and Water. Reedy Creek was founded and chartered by the State of Florida Legislature as an publicly funded agency of the state.

Lake Buena Vista surrounds Walt Disney World Village, and is only moments away from Downtown Disney Marketplace, Pleasure Island and Downtown Disney West Side. There are numerous resorts, shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Universal Studios, Sea World, Wet N Wild are all just 10 minutes away.

Restaurants with delectable cuisine from around the world can be found both inside and outside the area's theme parks. And it is not difficult to find the special brand of dining entertainment known as dinner theater to delight young and old.

Shopping excursions take on a whole different flavor at places like Downtown Disney. This entertainment, dining and shopping complex has something fun for everyone.

Close by, too, is Disney's Eagle Pines, Osprey Ridge, Magnolia, Palm, Lake Buena Vista and Oak Trail Golf Clubs.
